Catherine ButcherWeekly News Review from a Christian Viewpoint. Patrick Woodward talks to Catherine Butcher, editor of the Mothers’ Union “Families First” magazine (pictured) about the latest news from a Christian standpoint.  Today, we ask is Israel justified in attacking Gaza? Is the media biased in its reporting, and can the international community do anything to help?  Also, Government plans to keep details of our e-mails for a year spells trouble for hard-pressed civil servants, and Times columnists hope for better things in 2009.

Issue of email logging is not that different from website logging which already happens – isps are legally bound to keep records of all the websites we visit for years. Having said that, WHY does the gov NEED to keep a record of who send who an email? Does the Royal Mail keep a record of who sends who a Christmas card? (Actually, thinking about it, it’s probably all computerised, so possibly yes, but I would assume they would purge those records fairly regularly)
