Prayer Bulletin — 07 June 2012

The 160-member youth group Culture Shifters from Brisbane’s Bridgeman Downs Christian Outreach Centre says it has seen miracles on the city’s streets. Youth from the group – some as young as 13 – have been approaching people at random on the street, offering to pray for those who are sick.

Josh Russell, a 21-year-old artist, is one of those who was prayed for in 2009. He says that his life was completely changed after his Asperger’s syndrome was healed by God. Mr Russell said he was first diagnosed by specialist Dr Tony Attwood at a young age and had the condition until the 2009 prayer, where Mr Russell believes God spoke to him and cured his condition. “I know it can sound a bit crazy,” he says, “but I heard Him speak to me and he said: ‘You don’t need this anymore’”. Mr Russell said that, over the next months, his symptoms cleared and he became less anxious and more outgoing and focused.

Dr Attwood confirmed that when he saw Mr Russell again in 2010, his symptoms had diminished, to the point where his condition had become subclinical. Meanwhile the Culture Shifters continue praying on the streets of Brisbane.
